EVALUASI PENGELOLAAN SAMPAH DI DESA WISATA MEAT DALAM MENDUKUNG PARIWISATA BERKELANJUTAN DI KABUPATEN TOBA

Waste management plays a crucial role in sustainable tourism by maintaining environmental quality and visitor comfort. The Meat Tourism Village in Toba Regency faces challenges with waste infrastructure and management systems. This study evaluates waste management in the Meat Tourism Village to support sustainable tourism using a mixed-methods approach. Quantitative data were collected through questionnaires distributed to 100 tourists, while qualitative data were gathered via interviews and field observations. Descriptive analysis revealed moderate perceptions of cleanliness (54.0%), high visitor comfort (80.0%), moderate facility availability (44.2%), very high self-reported disposal behavior (82.8%), and high revisit intention (64.0%). Qualitative findings highlighted the limited availability of trash bins, irregular collection, and inadequate waste-separation facilities. These findings emphasize the need to strengthen waste management in the Meat Tourism Village by improving facilities, ensuring regular collection, enhancing sorting infrastructure, and providing ongoing education for local government, managers, community members, business operators, and tourists.
